Separation, a pin-hole triptych
I studied photography at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design under the guidance of Joseph McKenzie. With over 40 years’ exploring photographic processes, I often use alternative lenses to dumb down the technology of the digital DSLR. Pinhole, Holga and Petzval lenses soften the images, making them subtle and forgiving. This lets light and movement play a greater role.
This triptych comprises of long exposure self-portraits using the pinhole lens. Taken during a difficult period in my life they illustrate the emotions I felt at the time.
