Born in Arbroath, Scotland, I studied at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen. I have exhibited in juried exhibitions such as the BP Portrait Awards, The Morrison Portrait Awards, annual exhibitions at the Royal Scottish Academy and Royal Glasgow Institute and the Lynn Painter-Stainer’s Award at the Mall Galleries in London.
My work is concerned with human emotion and experience. Real yet dreamlike scenarios that sometimes draw on myth, fable and history, and sometimes on the mundane, are transformed into metaphors for the human condition, resulting in a narrative with allegorical imagery that explores human experience.
