I created this photograph using a pinhole camera constructed from a shoebox, a square of aluminium from a Coke can, photographic paper and duct tape. I developed the image in my darkroom, i.e. the bathroom of my Lammermuir Hills home. Shot during a lull in the “Beast from the East,” the portrait is of Jamie, a gardener who fought through the snowdrift to help our neighbours procure food and save animals from the cold.

Chris and Calum (2017)

SPA 2017 Exhibition Chris and Calum 35 x 50 cm (framed) Digital / giclée fine art print £400 All rights reserved

This is a wedding portrait of Chris and Calum and their first tender moment after becoming husband and husband. They are leading the way to their reception after the ceremony.

Originally from Yorkshire, I now live in the Scottish Borders. I studied painting at Edinburgh College of Art, graduating in 2015. I am fascinated by the people around me and base most of my work on these inspiring people, delving into their everyday lives, usually through the medium of paint.
