This documentary image is included in an ongoing body of work entitled ‘From Generation to Generation’, in which I explore themes of heritage, identity, memory and displacement. Ephraim Borowski is the director of the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities. His portrait was not staged. Standing before the antique painting, I saw him as representing the continuity of heritage in a new generation and captured that image.
I am married with nine children and recently completed a B.A Degree in Photography at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Narrative is important to me as a photographer, I aim to tell difficult stories through compassionate eyes. I have recently undertaken work with terror victims in Israel in order to provide a connection for the viewer through our shared humanity..
