Douglas Richardson was a customer in a café where I was shooting and agreed to be a background extra. I loved his strong features and asked to capture some portraits. He was a gentleman and keen to help. Ultimately, these portraits proved more successful than the planned shots. Sadly, Douglas died in 2016.
Trina Bohan is an Edinburgh based artist known for her large and evocative landscapes paintings. She is a striking, tall and elegant woman with a strong personality. This image captures the no-nonsense attitude and determination of a hard-working and brilliantly creative individual.
After a 30+ year police career, I decided to pursue my passion and completed my degree in Professional Photography in 2014. It then took time to gain confidence in my own style but both these portraits reflect my aim of obtaining ‘real’ images of my subjects.
