Literature is my first passion and I have been drawing writers for many years. Ten of those drawings are in the collection of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery (SNPG).  In 2019 I have an exhibition of heads in the Scottish Poetry Library and a two-person exhibition with writer and artist Alasdair Gray.

An artist of conviction and integrity is always striving towards deeper expression, and always has the feeling of falling short.

I have been working daily and exhibiting regularly for almost forty years. My work includes figurative and wildlife, reflecting my belief in the inter-relatedness of all sentient beings. I exhibit regularly and, against the odds, have enjoyed considerable success: ten works in the collection of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery (SNPG) and inclusion in several SNPG exhibitions; numerous prizes, regular favourable reviews, interviews on radio and TV and many solo and joint exhibitions, latterly with Alasdair Gray. In Edinburgh, I exhibit with the Union and Sutton Galleries.
