Virginia Colley

The drawing is of my former partner Chris, who had just been told he had incurable cancer. I felt compelled to capture this last image of him. I hope it conveys his undaunted intelligence and quiet dignity.

After graduating from Glasgow School of Art, I designed large installations and murals for The People's Palace, Glasgow, and Abbot House Heritage Centre, Dunfermline. I have participated in several solo and many group shows including at the RSA and the Paisley Art Institute, where this year I won the Bessie Scott Award.  Recent work has involved commissioned portraits.
